When you get old a bit of assistance is nice. I built this for a mate.
We started with a simple square frame from 12mm square steel tube with a sunken cage to lower the centre of gravity as low as possible holding 2x12V lead acid batteries. I suppose lipo would be used these days.
The motor is 24V 350W
We checked this out to see how it ran like this and found it was damned fast and stable so added more "stuff"
A square frame
and a floor
Mocked up the sides with some cardboard then cut them out of 3mm ply.
Added the sides and boxed in the wheels motor and controller.
Added extra support for the curved front and back and roof so we could bend the 3mm ply around the curves
Then the roof panel was bent over and hinged.
Added indicators and brake lights to the rear
The towing/pushing link is a spherical ball end with a spring loaded catch so it cannot come unhitched. The original was a spring clip that was very fiddly and prone to slipping.
The controls are on the LHS handlebar containing throttle indicator switch and brake.
And of course the ubiquitous coat of paint to make it look cool.
Inside there is an electronic dog barker so when anyone asks "Whats inside?" he presses the button for a frenzied bark.
