Tadpole trike.

Hello Chopzone community.
I'd like to introduce you to my Tadpole trike. I built it based on an existing project. I added suspension for added comfort. I'd like to motorize it soon and swap the small solar panels that only charge electronics (GPS, cellular phone) for larger ones and take long trips with a trailer.
Thank you for reading.

Hello Vallade your no weld trike looks very well built, how many km have you done with it ? Are the bolts - alu joints holding without wear and play ?

For the front suspension did you use quad parts ?

For the solar panel / battery / motor sizing the "suntrip" website has every build well documented.

For the electric assist suntrip bulders use regenerative assist, but it only works with a direct drive motor in the wheel.
This seems useful only in mountains with long downhills, for long normal trips standard motors offers more choice and better price

Hello. To answer, the bike hasn't done enough miles to be sure of its reliability, so I can't vouch for wear or play in the joints. The suspension is made with that of a quad. For everything related to battery charging, I plan to use two batteries. One to charge with the solar panels and one to run on the trike.
The trike is more of an application for my job than a personal hobby.

One of the reasons most home builders use steel and weld is durability. You definitely need to monitor bolt holes closely.

Thanks that is interesting to build with bolted frame, I think the xyz bikes are done this way. I didnt think of using quad parts that makes sense, hope they are not too heavy.

For solar charging brand batteries like bosch etc dont accept charge while driving so need two as you plan.
One battery is possible in a open system, need to connect solar charger and battery bms in a way to work in this config.
