There may be a few bumps as I get this new forum online. This is the latest version of the app.
All members and posts have been migrated, but some old attachments may be gone (ran out of disk space).

Let me know if something catches on fire and I will try to put it out.

many thanks for this , it has allowed me to use the old log-in details so that is always a good start !

has your spring started yet ? I assume that automatically doubles your work load !

I have fell behind with breaking up pallets for the wood burner , for my sins I now need to continue all through the summer to fill the wood store before the coming winter , hence slowing all the more exciting projects ;)

That's good news!
The old version was almost broken due to PHP version issues and the fact that I gut sucked into using wordpress for the main site (was hacked).

This new version seems so much more responsive as well, even up North on this little dish I am working off. I am half way to the Yukon working in a small community right now, setting up computers in a school. Ah, life of a traveling computer nerd!

At home Kathy tells me there is a huge 40cm snow pile to deal with after 4 days of endless dumping. Funny, when I left 5 days ago the grass was starting to turn green! Oh well, that's Northern Ontario for ya.

I still have a week here so the next job is redoing the main site.
This time I am coding it by hand in PHP and integrating it right into this forum.
No more wordpress! I spent way too much time fixing holes and tweaking updates.

Thanks for all of your posts. I have mostly been a lurker here, but it is still great to see all of these creatives builds.

I am in my little shack listening to old Amiga tunes while I hack away on the code to integrate all the tutorials into the forum. It just made sense to use this forum as the platform for everything now. So far, it's coming along nicely.

If all goes well, I will be able to put at least one tutorial back up so everyone can let me know if the formatting works.
So far in chrome, edge and on my iphone it seems to work.

Thanks for the report on android.

I added a tutorial tonight, hope the formatting works.
I had to write an external program to "parse" the doc file and then convert it to compatible php code to fit within the forum framework.
.... took 2 damn days - not as easy as welding!

Formatting worked great on android, I have a fold and changed back and forth between both a small and full screen and it adjusted perfectly without needing to refresh the page, same with rotating between landscape/portrait as well.

Only question, the first article says figure 1, but the photos are labeled photo 1, etc. I'm not sure if there were "figures" I wasn't seeing or they're one in the same.

Fixed that Figure typo. A lot of the tutorials I am converting are from my original book, and McGraw liked to use Figure, not Photo.

Just saw on Facebook that the name changed and have been wanting to peruse the site again so its a great time NOW!! Looks good what I've seen so far. Thank you so very much Brad for sharing all of this information!!
 
The old forum went down literally an hour after I decided to purchase a four-pack of plans.

Very many Thanks, Brad. Any... Well, pert near anytime folks dump WordPress & similar entities, I see improvements on this end. True story. Such be the case on this Android, too. Laptop went down, so I currently trudge along on a phone. I usually run Linux Mint, which has the effect of nos where bloatware previously reside.
